Job Title: PR Manager

Reports to: Head of PR and EVP Strategy 

Location: Dubai, Head office

Position Overview:

As part of the Strategy department, the PR Manager creates value by planning and executing PR activities that grow awareness and build the reputation of Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), its brands and the GHA DISCOVERY programme.

Role & Responsibilities

​Strategy – 20%

  • Contribute to the overall PR strategy and take responsibility for its execution

  • Create and implement the PR content calendar and ensure we optimize opportunities to spread news and stories in a timely fashion

  • Actively seek speaking opportunities for our spokespeople, including conferences, panels and events, radio, blogs etc.

  • Seek sponsorship and exposure opportunities

  • Create submissions, apply for and manage awards opportunities


Project Management – 40%

  • Plan, project manage (including logistics) and execute events in various markets: customer events, trade shows, press events

  • Work with Ultratravel partners for the successful delivery of the annual ULTRAs awards, and related PR and communications opportunities with the media and our brands

  • Coordinate and execute sponsorship and trade advertising opportunities for GHA, from creation and setup to implementation and results tracking


Content creation and copywriting – 25%

  • Assist with content planning and writing or editing of communications, from press releases to articles and whitepapers

  • Create and manage regular internal/external talking points centered around themes, hot topics, etc. and the distribution thereof to various stakeholders for consistency in messaging

  • Write/manage posts for the GHA LinkedIn account


Administration – 15%

  • Together with the Head of PR, work closely with the PR Committee and assist with meeting planning, content and follow-up

  • Create coverage reports and benchmark PR activities and awareness for comparison YOY and against the competition

  • Manage PR budget reconciliation, new vendor setup and invoice management

  • Oversee travel and hotel bookings for journalists when relevant

  • Keep boilerplates and documentation updated

  • Share updates and the results of activities ongoing to keep stakeholders informed and engaged

  • Represent GHA at events and with media where required


Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant PR or communications experience, preferably within travel or hospitality

  • 3+ years of project management or event planning experience

  • Experience with luxury brands a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, or similar

  • Extremely strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, which are critical in a JV environment

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives to fruition with varying priorities and dependencies

  • Demonstrated exemplary accountability and follow-through

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated; able to deliver results with limited supervision

  • High energy, positive attitude and approach that inspires collaboration

  • Insightful problem solver and creative thinker​
