Hotel description
The Kempinski Giardino di Costanza Resort & Spa is set in the heart of the Sicilian countryside dominated by olive gardens & vineyards. The name is derived from Costanza D’Altavilla, mother of the king of the Staufer’s – Frederic II. Which links back to Sicily’s Norman-Arabic epoch and one of the most important periods in history of the town of Mazara del Vallo, in which time the city stood tall as prefecture and latter bishop’s see. Henceforth the everlasting beauty and aesthetic of the ancient times is reflected in the design of the Kempinski Giardino di Costanza Resort & Spa. The traditionally built Resort is imbedded in 100.000 sqm of landscaped gardens. Indulge in first class cuisine and exquisite wines at our elegant restaurant or at the Enoteca. The bars, salons and spacious terraces invite the guest to stay. Experience the true Mediterranean hospitality, relax your way into oblivion and acquaint yourself with pure well being. As well the garden recalls the Moorish-Sicilian style and is graced with Palm- & Orange tree groves, inviting pavilions and colourful floral pergolas. Amidst the lush flora the pools are shining azure. The sights and sound of fountains and ponds in and around the Resort complete the picture, which provides the peace and tranquillity sought after.
Amenities
All spacious 91 guest rooms and suites at the Kempinski Giardino di Costanza Resort & Spa are located in both of the two storey wings of the building. From the terraces or balconies of the Grand Superior and Superior rooms, guests will enjoy the view over the lush inner garden - with its water features and citrus- and olive tree groves. The balconies of the Deluxe rooms are open into the surrounding of the peaceful countryside. The harmonious blend of typical Sicilian decors and warm colours is prominent in every room. All rooms have a living & working area. For the comfort of our guests, all oversized bathrooms have two washbasins, large bathtub, separate walk-in shower with rainforest effect, toilet and bidet. The suites consist of a separate living and bed room and are laid out with parquet floors. They are available with either a walk-in-closet and a guest bathroom or two full bathrooms. Suites offer two balconies or a terrace and a balcony, all with a stunning view. The two Penthouse suites crown the Kempinski Giardino di Costanza Resort & Spa. Covering more than 130 sqm, with a panoramic terrace with a private pool you will find magnificent living-and sleeping rooms with exclusive bathrooms. The dining room has its own kitchen. A private pool is located on the top roof with a panoramic garden terrace surrounded by lush greenery and flowers.
Location description
Guests of the Kempinski Giardino di Costanza Resort & Spa will experience a full immersion in the Mediterranean atmosphere through discoveries of the ancient Phoenician, Greco-Roman and Arab-Norman cultures whose legacies are spread throughout Western Sicily. A few of the nearby attractions include the temples and museums of Selinunte, Segesta and Agrigento; the salt fields of Marsala and the medieval town of Erice, situated high above Trapani offering a spectacular 360 degree view of the sea and countryside. The cultural hub of Palermo with its golden mosaic-laden cathedrals and splendid architecture is but one-hour drive away. Of particular importance is the recent accidental discovery of the so-called Dancing Satyr (Satiro Danzante). Found in the waters nearby Mazara del Vallo, this bronze statue from appr. 300 B.C. demonstrates the splendour and harmony of the Greek art of sculpture. After five years of restoration in Rome, the statue has come home to the newly founded museum at former San Egidio church, Mazara del Vallo.
